 SELECTION PROCESS In order to create the Youth Film Academy’s high level of excellence, YFA looks for desire, dedication and follow-through from each potential applicant. Admission to the YFA is for Kids 4 to 12, Teens 13 to 17 and young adults over 18. There is no rolling admission. To attend the audition, a candidate must bring two recent photos which will not be returned and submit a completed application. Candidates will interview or audition for one of YFA’s prestigious programs. All applicants are emailed a one page scene from a popular Television show to memorize and invited to attend an audition in order to assess their suitability for the program and their ability to work as part of a team. The aim of the audition process is to offer potential students an opportunity to demonstrate their creative potential and to explore whether or not they have the creativity, determination, personal qualities and characteristics to be a part of the entertainment industry. Applicants who successfully complete the first audition will be asked to attend a final audition the following day. Though the selection process can be challenging, it will be a fun learning experience for all who attend. Having fun is key! Candidates who are not offered a place in Youth Film Academy may re-apply the following year. |
