 SUMMER CAMP 2009 YFA is DC's premier entertainment arts institution and one of the most distinguished in the world. In Summer 2009, you can experience YFA for yourself in a 5-day Summer Camp Program. Acting for Film & Television Intensive In this comprehensive 5-day program, you'll be introduced to the world of acting for film and TV, from the basics of using your voice and body freely as an instrument of play, to a deeper understanding of a script, to the scene study that is the core of all acting training. You'll also learn how an actor interacts on a film set, as well as vital audition techniques. Your week will culminate in filming a scene to add to your portfolio. Registration Deadline for Summer Program: June 26, 2009 Film Production Intensive In this 5-day program, you'll get a comprehensive introduction to the key facets of filmmaking as you take a project from script to screen. Alternating between lectures and hands-on workshops, you'll bring a compelling story to life through the major areas of directing, cinematography, screenwriting, and post-production. You'll learn how to analyze and break down a short script, how to work with performers, and the inner workings of a film set. You'll get hands-on experience operating HD cameras, attending production meetings, and working on state-of-the-art editing stations, all while collaborating to create, shoot, and edit a short film.
